As far as famous biblical rulers go, Herod is a king mostly known for his ruthlessness and brutality. However, in the National Geographic Presents: Herod's Lost Tomb game, you get to experience the other nature of this Judean king and try to unearth his glorious past as an adventurer from The National Geographic Society. In this game, you choose to play either one of the two National Geographic Society members as you try to unlock the secrets on where to find Herod's missing tomb. You see, other than being a fierce ruler, Herod is actually a masterful architect also, designing many of the world's greatest structural masterpieces. One mystery surrounding all of these wonders though is where he chose to set his burial grounds. Of course, this won't be a mystery any longer, since you're already hot on this historical trail, trying to find all the clues that may point you into the location of Herod's lost tomb.

National Geographic Presents: Herod's Lost Tomb is a hidden object game employing classical item-finding as you try to complete all of the listed objects on the bottom of your screen. You will be visiting several archaeological sites trying to find all these objects and with some tools in your hand, try to unearth artifacts listed as gold items which serve as primary clues to aid you in your quest. Tools include archaeological brushes, x-ray machines and metal detectors, and you can always reach into the tool tab of your game menu anytime as long as there's an important item for you to find.

There are a total of five mini-games too that you will encounter during the course of your adventure. After unlocking each mini-game, you can already play these games whenever you want in the map screen. Mini-games are very innovative and fun to play. While the puzzles are not very unique, the design is resembled to the overall theme of the game, with a historical background too on why you are tasked to play through them.

Need For Speed - Undercover Review

Any game from the NFS franchise is always awaited with bated breath and Undercover was no exception. A good amount of hype followed the game and game analysts went to town discussing about its competition with the other two racing titles it had to compete with - Midnight Club: Los Angeles and Burnout Paradise. So how does Need for Speed Undercover fare? Read on for our comments. There are several things that are truly amazing about Need for Speed Undercover. You really get a great big kick out of riding your mechanized four wheeled horses around town. The feeling cannot be described in words, but you get the feel of being the king (or queen) or all you survey! Added to that, the music is so slick that it really makes you feel you are flying, not driving. There is great music when you are stepping on the gas or when you are starting out with your drive and when you slow down, the music slows down too, making you feel relaxed about the exhilarating drive you just had. If there is something that will take Need for Speed Undercover to cult status as most of the franchise's earlier titles have been, then it is this blend of speed with music.

Another interesting thing about this title is the presence of live action sequences interspersed throughout the game. This usually shows people talking streetspeak which truly adds to the mood of the game and allows you to go all revved up in your vehicle.

Need for Speed has done a good job of bringing its car customizable feature back into business (it wasn't present in ProStreet last year). This again gives you the joy of tweaking your car the way you want to drive it and really feel like the owner of it.

About the game itself, it is a bit different from the previous Need for Speed titles, in that sense it has an open world concept. Racing is not all what you will be doing - you will be escaping the cops, chasing people, delivering 'special' packages and even stealing cars. As you go by, you will get promotions in the Undercover world, which will upgrade both your caliber as a driver as well as your car. You are able to upgrade all your cars several times over and when you have enough dough, you are able to buy a meaner, leaner machine. This concept of evolution has existed in Need for Speed right since its earliest days and it is heartening to see that they haven't done away with it in this one.

There are some flaws though. The car detailing could have been more accurate. A very avid car enthusiast might find something amiss here. The game has a bad frame rate too which makes it not a choice for slower computer systems. Some people who have played the game have also commented about the feel of lifelessness they get in the city as they are driving along; the city seems unreal at times.

But the awesome playability of the game and its amazing music more than make up for it. After all, Need for Speed Undercover delivers what the franchise always does - extreme high-adrenaline nerve-pumping car racing. There's no taking away from that.

Yes, its 100% true, You can get paid to test video games. But, the questions is: do you need a degree? are there special qualifications? Or, do you need to meet any other certain guidelines in order to achieve this? In this article, I will answer all these questions and more so that you can get an idea of who has the best chances of becoming a video game tester. First of all, you do not need a degree from college or any special training to become a video game tester. While you can likely benefit from having a degree, developing contacts and such, it is not required. And in the absence of a degree, large amounts of ambition and persistence must take its place. Either that or an insider who can show you the ropes.

The "insider approach" can either be done by befriending somebody in the gaming industry, preferably a well known tester, or by buying an in-depth book or guide on how to become a video game tester.

Basically, there are two easy-to-meet requirements that need to be met in order for video game developers and programmers to be interested in hiring you. The first: you must have a high level of skill & experience when it comes to playing video games and you have to have an excellent attention to detail. Remember, you're job is to test games thoroughly; it's not to try to beat them quickly. As a video game tester, you'll be looking for glitches, problematic issues, and other factors that detract from the overall gameplay.

The second requirement step is being able to document glitches and bugs properly. You have to make it very simple for the developer/programmer to understand what is happening during the glitch. This way, when it comes time to fix the problem, they won't have trouble locating it.

If you have a good attention for detail, and can document bugs/glitches properly and clearly, then you're exactly what many companies are looking for in a video game tester.

If you're unsure about your abilities, I urge you to test your abilities by playing more video games. However, don't just play it for fun. I want you to play it like a video game tester would. Expand the horizon of your vision so that you notice all of the elements on the screen as you play the game. This may feel somewhat different than you normally play, but it is necessary to get the practice you need.

Once you have relaxed and have become "one" with the screen, be aware of all the things that are going on on-screen. See how things relate to each other and how one thing can cause another thing to happen. If you spot something peculiar, write it down and document it asap. Write down what happened to cause that abnormality and explain what you deem as problematic.

If you have no problem with these requirements, then you should definitely consider becoming a paid video game tester.
